“Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 1:4-5 New Living Translation
Comprehending correctly what Jesus did in the Cross for the believers brings forth a pure heart and a powerful living. With no condemnation or judgment to be received, but a life lived out of gratitude to God. A believer still trying to earn God´s blessings trough works rather than faith is not God´s will, and this causes affliction to an already set free soul.
A Christian already washed by the blood of Jesus no longer needs to struggle with his/her righteousness before the Lord, for this is a gift that has to be received, not earned.
“But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17 New Living Translation
Likewise in the Old Covenant where the people of Israel offered sacrifices, bringing sheep, goats or bulls to confess their sins over them and God no longer saw the faults but the offering, the same way all who have confessed Jesus as Lord and Saviors are righteous before God. And contrary to the Old Covenant, the New Covenant believers do not need to offer more sacrifices for their sins, as Jesus one time sacrifice was more than enough to cleanse them forever.
No matter what you have done in the past, any fault committed, if you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior those sins have been washed away. God no longer remembers them. Neither should you.
Direct your faith only to the perfect sacrifice of Jesus and the gift of His righteousness, not your own works that are an offense to God.
God chose you only because He loves you, to be clothed with Christ. Hence you are already holy and without fault in His eyes. No matter past, present or future sins, they are already forgiven and paid for.
If you have been struggling accepting God´s grace, forgiveness and righteousness towards you, do this prayer with me:
“Father God, I renounce to present myself before You with my own righteousness. I fully accept your gift of Christ’s righteousness. Please forgive me and convict me of my sin. Guide me to your understanding. Cleanse my heart and fill me with your presence. Grant me the faith I need to receive everything Jesus paid for. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.”
